Dear Notes.net community,
You may have seen hints over the past few months about new work that is underway for Notes.net. The entire Notes.net team has been busy planning and developing the next generation of Notes.net and we're really excited to tell you a little more about what's in the works.
The Notes.net team is transforming the Notes.net Web site into a new Web site, the Lotus Developer Domain (LDD), with an expanded charter of covering all Lotus products. We'll be launching this new site in early May and announcing and promoting it at the IBM developerWorks Live! conference in San Francisco, May 7 - 10, 2002.
We're designing the Lotus Developer Domain to be the premier Web site for technical information about all Lotus software offerings. Like Notes.net, LDD is geared to Information Technology (IT) professionals (including developers, administrators, and IT managers) who work for potential and existing Lotus customers, ISVs, and Business Partners. And like Notes.net, LDD will act as a technical resource, product testing environment, and product showcase -- this time for all Lotus products. This means we'll continue developing and hosting the exact same Notes.net programs and features you use on a regular basis today, while at the same time expanding our reach and depth with more cross-product information, forums, demos, and articles. LDD will also be the Lotus software brand's technical Web presence from the IBM developerWorks Web site and the other IBM developer domains.
It's not a coincidence that LDD is brought to you by the same dedicated team that has made Notes.net the award-winning, technical resource it is. All of us have tackled our redesign efforts with enthusiasm and energy.
Finally, and most importantly, we want to thank you for your support and interest in Notes.net over the last five years. You are the Notes.net community, and as we expand and make LDD a reality, our success depends on your involvement, ideas, and feedback. So please use our feedback form to keep telling us what you think, what you like and don't like, and what you'd like to see. And don't forget to check back in May to see the new Lotus Developer Domain and meet the entire team behind the site. We look forward to working with you on the next generation of Notes.net, the Lotus Developer Domain.
Sincerely,
Barb Mathers
Notes.net & Lotus Developer Domain Web Site Director
P.S. If you're attending IBM developerWorks Live!, be sure to stop by our exhibit hall pedestal (in the Lotus Village) and attend our Birds of a Feather session.
P.P.S. And yes, LDD will run on 100% pure Domino, so you will still be able to access our set of site databases and replicate them, just as you have with Notes.net. |
