User Review of Autonumbering database for sequential numbering in replicated applications
Submitted by Christopher T Carswell on 03/11/2002.
Ok, I found that when you name the Server in the Applications settings tool you should use the full canonical(sp?) spelling of the server. Example: CN=dev3/O=Development/C=US not dev3/development/US The current code does not convert canonical names.
I tested this by editing the AutonumberGet after the first "bLooping" if you type msgbox strANserver and then Type Msgbox db.serever they will never equal...
bSuccess = False
bKeepLooping = True
'Msgbox stranserver
'Msgbox db.server
If (strANServer <> "") And (db.server <> strANServer) Then
'Check server is enabled, and this server cannot assign numbers
iReturn = C_AN_WRONG_SERVER
bKeepLooping = False
Hope this helps...
By far this DB saved our group hours of development time!!
Kudos to Mr. Coombs
