User Review of NotesConnect V2.0 TCP/IP Diagnostics Tool
Submitted by Peter Gloor on 11/26/1999.
Rating: 4 stars
I had the problem that I couldn't connect to a certain external Notes server (from Windows 95 clients only, NT was o.k.). To locate the problem I played around a whole afternoon, changed network configurations, successfully used ping and tracert but still couldn't connect to that server.
Finally I decided to download NotesConnect and it lead me to the source of all my problems within minutes.

Since ping and tracert was o.k. I expected the problem to be in the Notes configuration. NotesConnect showed me that this is not the case, so it was relatively easy to find that forgotten static route entry in the proxy-server that caused all my problems.

However, after all I have no explanation why only Win95 clients couldn't connect, but that's another story.

An option that shows the route and could give a hint where the path is broken would be a further big gain. But may be this is impossible to do.
