Detailed Description:
The Composite Application Editor is a tool that allows the assembly and modification
of composite applications. A composite application is an aggregation of components
that address a business need for a particular group of users. For Lotus Expeditor
users, components can include JSR168 portlets or Eclipse View Parts. Provided you have
sufficient permission, you can use the Composite Application Editor to edit an active
application. The changes that you make are reflected immediately in the application.
In addition, you can edit a Portal application template. In this case, the changes
apply to subsequent applications you create from the template.
This tool was first made available to the public within IBM Lotus Notes 8.0.

1. Extract CompAppEditor_1_0_0.zip to a suitable location.

2. Open Lotus Expeditor Client.

3. Choose File - Application - Install to open the installation wizard.

4. Select the "Search for new features to install" option, and then click Next.

5. Add the location of the features and plug-ins to the Location List using one of
the following methods:
* Add Zip/Jar Location to add the location of the ZIP or JAR file (when the application
is packaged as a
JAR or ZIP file). In the "Select Local Site Archive" dialog box, browse
for the file, and then click Open.
* Alternatively, extract CAE_Updatesite.zip to a suitable location. Then at
this step, select Add Folder
Location to add the location of this folder.

6. After adding the location, click Finish.

7. The client retrieves the features from the update site.

8. When the Updates dialog box displays, choose to install the Composite Application
Editor feature. To view more detail for any feature, select the feature and click
Properties. Click Next.

9. Click Finish to allow installation to proceed.

10. After installing, you are prompted to restart Lotus Expeditor for the changes
to take effect. Select Yes. The client closes and restarts.
