Detailed Description:
The Sip Proxy & Registrar Server Simulator is designed to sit on top of the IBM WebSphere Application Server Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) container and to run as a standard enterprise application. This component was unit tested on supported Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems, using WebSphere Application Server V6.1 with Fix Pack V6.1.0.3.

Installation instructions
To install the application, follow these steps:
1. From the WebSphere Admin Console, select Enterprise Application - Install New Application.
2. Browse to the STRegistrarProxy.ear file downloaded from this page and stored locally on your machine.
3. Click Next twice, and then click Finish.

To configure class loader settings, follow these steps:
1. From the WebSphere Admin Console, select Enterprise Application.
2. Click RegistrarProxy.
3. Click "Class loading and update detection."
4. Set the "Polling interval for updated files" option to 0.
5. Select "Single class loader for application."
6. Click Apply and Save changes.

Configuration instructions
The configuration options described in this section are in the registrarproxy.xml file. You can configure this file prior to installation.

After installation, the XML file appears in several locations on the machine, however, you only need the file located here:

IBM\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\<profile name>\installedApps\<node name>\STRegistrarProxy.ear\RegistrarWeb.war\WEB-INF\registrarproxy.xml

NOTE: After any XML file modification, you must restart the application for the changes to take effect.

Monitoring
You can view the list of registered users for the Sip Proxy & Registrar Server Simulator, including details such as user URI, its contacts, qvalue, expiration interval, and expiration time. To see registered users, navigate to this JSP page:

http://<server name>:<default HTTP port>/Registrar/RegistrarView.jsp

For example: http://127.0.0.1:9081/Registrar/RegistrarView.jsp

Trace and log support
The Sip Proxy & Registrar Server Simulator is a standard enterprise application that uses the WebSphere Application Server mechanism for enabling and disabling trace and log support.

To enable traces/logs, follow these steps:
1. From the WebSphere Admin Console, select Troubleshooting - Logging and Tracing - <server name> - Diagnostic Trace - Change Log Detail Levels.
2. Set the following log levels:

*=info: com.ibm.sip.*=all: com.ibm.ws.sip.*=all

3. Click Apply and Save changes.
4. Restart the server.

Trace files are located at

IBM\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\AppSrv01\logs\<server name>trace.log
