Detailed Description:
The insurance industry is a key target market segment for IBM. Given the
importance of the insurance industry to IBM and the end-to-end capabilities
provided by Lotus Expeditor, it is important to provide a sample application
that shows developers how to develop end-to-end applications in this segment.
This sample application is called the Mobile Adjuster (MA) sample application.
The MA sample application has already been used by IBM to test current releases
of Lotus Expeditor V6.1 and to demonstrate these products' capabilities to
customers.
The Mobile Adjuster sample consists of one client Web application (separated
into two source projects), one transactional messaging (JMS/MQe) server
application (one source project), one Web service that manages images
synchronized between clients and server (two source projects), and one server
application that shows an Agent Servlet (three source projects) that accesses
the same backend database as that which is synchronized (JDBC/DB2e) with the
client application. The client application implements a local Web application
that runs on the Web container to provide a browser user interface on the
client. As a result, the Mobile Adjuster sample application demonstrates how to
write an end-to-end application using major user interaction and access
services provided by Lotus Expeditor.
The Mobile Adjuster sample application has been ported and modified to run in
the Lotus Expeditor V6.1 environment. The client portion of the MA sample
application for Lotus Expeditor V6.1 does not contain any new functions.
Changes were made to the existing sample to port it to Lotus Expeditor V6.1, to
use new icons/images, and to externalize strings for NLS enablement.
New/changed code for the server portion of the MA sample application for Lotus
Expeditor V6.1 consists of:
Documentation for running the MA sample with a remote database server
Parameters for specifying image repository path, necessary to support Linux
Support for Linux
Instructions for use are included in the ZIP file.
