You had mentioned it from the very beginning, but I just noticed today that you attempt to use your Notes 7 client with Gmail.
There will be a couple of obstacles or challenges, at least.
You first have to decide, if you want to connect using POP or IMAP. If you want to go with IMAP, the client help contains instructions how to stet up Notes:

If you opt for POP, you first have to set up Gmail to support it:

In either case, Gmail will by default NOT accept any authentication mechanism that Notes 7 is capable of. At the very least you will have to configure Gmail to allow access from less secure apps:

After doing so, Google will constantly nag you with messages, stating that this option should not be enabled for the sake of security. You'll have to live with that.
