Getting Started with Weblicator: An Interactive Guided Tour

Back to Main Menu

Detaching and Installing the Guided Tour
You can detach this interactive self-paced tour that demonstrates the features available in Lotus Weblicator. The tour is organized into three modules: Getting Started, Managing Web Pages, and Working with Web Pages Offline. In this guided tour, you'll be able to see how Weblicator can help you organize and work with web pages locally as well as monitor web sites for content changes.

What type of computer you need
To run the guided tour, you will need an IBM-compatible computer with a 486 or Pentium processor running either Windows 95 or Windows NT, a 256-color VGA monitor, and 9MB of hard drive disk space.

What is contained in the detachable file
The file that you will detach, WEBL.ZIP, contains the guided tour setup files in PKZIP format. You must have PKZIP or WINZIP installed on your computer to decompress the files and setup the guided tour.

How to install the guided tour

1. In Windows Explorer, create a directory named C:\LWTOUR to download the tour file. You must use this directory name for the tour to install properly

2. Detach the file WEBL.ZIP Webl.zipinto the LWTOUR directory.

3. Unzip WEBL.ZIP in the LWTOUR directory.

4. In Windows Explorer, go to the LWTOUR directory.

5. Double-click on the Setup.exe file.

6. Follow the on-screen instructions. Specify an installation directory of your choice other than LWTOUR. The Setup program will create the directory for you if it does not exist.

7. After you have completed the installation process, you can delete the LWTOUR directory only if you have not installed the Weblicator Guided Tour in that directory. This will save you approximately 9 MB of disk space.

To detach Webl.zip

From a browser:

1. Doubleclick Faq_lab.exe.
2. Select Save File... to save to local or network directory.
    From a notes database:
