The main question is what release of LEI you're using! MSSQL 2008 was not supported back on the 8.0 releases, nor in the earlier 8.5 releases.
However, it is now fully supported on LEI 8.5.2 or later. This means both 32 and 64 bit, and on any matching release of Windows. You can connect using a native SQL client or ODBC, whatever your preference.
If you're on 8.5.2 or later there should not be any problems! If there are, it's a supported combination, so you will be able to get Support assistance in fixing it.
