That would have been my first question - whether the server is 32 or 64 bit. A 64-bit server simply won't "see" a 32-bit Oracle client.
Once you get ahold of the 64-bit client, you should be in business. Note that you need at LEAST the Oracle 10G client to work with 8.5.3 Domino/DECS. You won't be able to use the version 8 client.
Another option, if need be, is to use the 64-bit Lotus OEM 5.3.3 ODBC drivers. The package includes an Oracle Wire Protocol driver that you can use instead of an Oracle Client if you like. You can download these from Passport Advantage.
Note that if you went with this option, you would be making a Connection to ODBC instead of a Connection to Oracle in the DECS administrator.
