Most people are probably aware that you can use a feature called "type-ahead" when addressing a mail message. With type-ahead enabled, you can start typing the first few letters of a person's name, and Notes will automatically look up the person's name in one or more directories.
Did you also know that you can use a similar type-ahead feature in many other areas of Notes: your Bookmarks, Mail folders, and Replicator page?
Bookmarks
With your Bookmarks page open (either pinned or unpinned), simply start typing the first few letters of, or a word in, the bookmark you're looking for. Your typed characters appear in the status bar at the bottom of your window. When Notes finds a match, it selects it, and then you can open the bookmark. The graphic below demonstrates how you can type the word "today" to find the bookmark for the Notes.net Iris Today database:

Mail folders
When you're working with your mail file folders, you can use type-ahead to navigate to a folder. For example, when you choose to move a message into a folder, one way to do it is to choose the Folder - Move to Folder action. In the Move To Folder dialog box that appears, you can type the first few first few letters of, or a word in, the folder you're looking for (and again, your characters appear in the status bar). Notes finds the folder and selects it, as shown the following graphic:

Replicator page
If you have many database entries on your Replicator page, type-ahead is a handy way to navigate to an entry so you can change its options. Just like with Bookmarks and mail folders, you can simply start typing the first few first few letters of, or a word in, the entry you're looking for; the characters appear in the status bar; and Notes finds your entry on the page.
