Differences between R5iNotes and R6iNotes workloads
The R5iNotes workload has been defined as follows. These workloads are consistent in execution with the associated release (the R5iNotes workload is consistent with the other R5-based messaging workloads in execution steps):

Every 15 minutes a user will:

• Open the Inbox
• Read the first message
• Delete the first message
• Read the second message
• Read the third message
• Read the fourth message
• Read the fifth message

On every sixth loop, the user will:

• Create a new message
• Add three recipients
• Send the message

Comparing the R5iNotes workload to the R6iNotes workload, it is important to understand the differences in the user modelling. These are summarized as:

• Heavier average mail item
• Calendar and scheduling added
• Variation in mail items sizes sent
• Added attachment support (up to 10 MB)

The R6iNotes workload is consistent with how other Domino 6 workloads emulate and model user environments. For more information about Domino 6 workloads, see the Performance Perspectives column "The new Domino 6 NotesBench workloads: Heavier by request!"

When planning to use this workload, bear in mind that the R5iNotes workload can be run against R5.x and Domino 6 servers (using the R5 or Domino 6 templates on the Domino 6 server). Also, NotesBench Consortium members currently have access to the R6iNotes workload. These members will be good points of contact to discuss their experiences.
